Organic Figs

The latin name of edible fig (F. carica) comes from Caria region in southwest Turkey which had been an active region both in production and trade during 1st millennium B.C.

Dried fig fruit of this superb variety are brownish in color, soft in texture, big in size and rich in nutritious aspects.

Being dried naturally under sun, fruit have low water activity levels that allow longer storage and transportation under ambient conditions.

The dried fig is a very low energy (sun-dried) and water (rain-fed) demanding production with very low carbon footprint.

Organic Apricots

Dried apricot is derived from fresh apricot,

Natural dried apricots are dried directly under the sunlight and have a light to dark brown color. They are not treated with sulphur dioxide.

Dried apricots are often consumed as a snack, and after grading are also mixed with other dried fruit and nuts, as well as being an important ingredient in chocolate snacks, baked cakes and desserts and breakfast cereals.

Organic Poppy Seeds

Poppy plant (papaver Somniferum L.), which is defined as a traditional product in the life of the farmer in our country, is a one-year cultivated plant. Poppy has two most important products, these are the seed and the capsule shell.

Apart from these, the plants in their young phase are used in our country as green lettuce, plant residue and stems burning. Poppy seed oil is produced.

The paste (rubbed poppy), which is obtained by heating and crushing the seeds, has started to take place on the shelves of the market. Seeds subject to the bakery sector in the form of products (breads, cakes, etc.) are used for decoration as well as in Turkey but also in Europe and America.

PROCESSING PROCESS

RAW MATERIALS

O2 Organik LTD. The products of our project farmers arrive at our factory to be processed just before they take their place on the shelves.

SHOCK FREEZING

Raw material products are shocked for at least 48 hours at -40 degrees.

COLD STORAGE

After Shock freezing items are stored until processing.

DARK ROOM

Aflatoxin contaminated figs are selected in the dark room. This process is applied only for figs.

CALIBRATION

The products are classified according to their calibration and sent to the washing phase.

WASHING

The products are washed with water.

OVEN

By applying heat treatment in the industrial microwave oven, it is ensured that the appropriate humidity rate and desired microbiological values are reached.

TABLE SELECTION

Apricot and fig are selected one by one and boxed.
